GUWAHATI: Continuing the tradition of celebrating Durga Puja, this year also, 1st Battalion National Disaster Response Force organized function at Patgaon Campus, Azara. The eye-catching and dazzling statues of Goddess Durga, Lord Shiva, lord Ganesha , Laxmi and Saraswati are placed in Pooja arena. A panoramic, picturesque and beautiful theme of Paharo Vali Maa (Goddess of Hills) is created around the statues of the deity. The theme was depicted and illustrated by mountain series clad in snow and forests with the water rivulets coming down the feet of Goddess Durga.
On this occasion RS Gill, Commandant, 1st Battalion NDRF stated, “We pray the omnipresent and omnipotent Maa Durga to bless us to fight disasters and save precious human lives. All the time our rescuers remain busy in carrying out rescue operations and conducting disaster management training in NE region. Celebration of such programs by involving all NDRF Personnel with families and children ease of the mental fatigue or exhaustion of our rescuers and unites them with the spiritual divine power to refresh and prepare them to fight disaster with vigor and enthusiasm”, a press release stated.
