New Cards under National Food Security Scheme in January 2020

GUWAHATI: Dispur has started the exercise to distribute new cards to all beneficiaries under the National Food Security (NFS) scheme in January next year. Altogether 57 lakh households in the State are currently holding NFS cards in the State to avail various benefits under the scheme. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has already instructed the Food & Civil Supplies department to replace the old cards with new ones by January. Accordingly the department has sent new cards for printing. Sonowal has also instructed the new cards should be neatly designed and names of beneficiaries must be legible for all.
