NF Railway in a heroic feat rescued a minor girl in Guwahati

Guwahati: Northeast Frontier Railway rescued a minor girl from being kidnapped in Guwahati. Railway personnel stated that she was found accompanied by 3 suspicious-looking men on 14th October, the persons were immediately detained by the police.

The girl, in her statement, revealed she was kidnapped on the night of 12th October and that she hails from Basantpur, Barpeta along with her name.

Further investigation helped discover that her family had already lodged an FIR at the Alopatti Char Police. The apprehended persons and the rescued girl were handed over to Assam Police for legal actions.

The three kidnappers were identified as- Azidul Hoque (19 yrs), Mijanur Rahman (22 yrs, elder brother of Azidul Hoque) and Idrish Ali (32 yrs)- hail from Barpeta.

The kidnappers admitted that they were planning to make an escape to Kerala by train along with the minor girl.

In another instance, Tinsukia railway police division orchestrated a raid at Ashmat travel agency in Digboi on 21st October and arrested Ashmath Hussain (38 yrs) for owning fake identity tickets and cards.

The police recovered 11 e-tickets (6 live and 5 used e-tickets) of Rs 43,231, generated by using fake personal user IDs like Ashmat, Ashmathsto, Ashmathhhh. A computer set and other accessories have been seized from the shop with a case registered against them.
