GUWAHATI: As many as 45 Shramik Special trains arrived in various Northeastern States like Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Assam till Tuesday with more than 63,000 stranded people of all NE states including Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, and Nagaland. More than 20 such Shramik Special trains will be arriving in the coming days in these states with stranded people spreading throughout the country. 14 trains have originated from various states under the jurisdiction of N. F. Railway to carry stranded people from these States to their native places.

The Indian Railways has run more than 3,274 Shramik Special trains, carrying over 44 lakh passengers, till Tuesday. Nearly 60 percent of trains originated from Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Punjab and are majorly destined for Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Nearly 80 percent of total Shramik Special trains are destined for various destinations in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Most of the destinations in Uttar Pradesh are around Lucknow - Gorakhpur sector and in Bihar around Patna.

In NFR areas under Katihar division of Bihar trains arrived at stations like Katihar, Purnea, Arraria, Kishanganj. About 50 more Shramik Special Trains will be arriving in these stations by next 2/3 days by carrying stranded people of Bihar from various locations of the country.
