GUWAHATI: A new Zonal Disaster Management Resource Centre has been opened recently at NFR HQ, Maligaon. This new centre was inaugurated by GM/NFR Sanjive Roy in the presence of Radhey Raman, Additional General Manager, NFR, representatives from 1st Battalion NDRF, Principal Chief Safety Officer, NFR apart from other senior officials of the headquarters.
The facilities of this centre are updated as per ISO 9001-2015 certification requirement to deal with any type of disaster. The facilities provided at the centre is equipped to serve as an aid in achieving a quick disaster response and ensuring immediate attention to injured persons in case of Railway Mishap by ensuring appropriate co-ordination between different departments of railways apart from civil authorities.
The overall objective of this Disaster Management Resource Centre is to convey and apprise officers and officials of their roles and responsibilities to minimise the possibility of loss of life and property during any disaster, stated a release.
