GUWAHATI: The Kamrup Metro District Magistrate on Monday issued an order stating that the lodging and accommodation for the devotees within the premises of Kamakhya Temple will not be allowed to operate until further order.

Lodging & Accommodation During Covid

It is to be noted that due to the COVID situation, the Ambubachi Mela for the year 2021 has been cancelled. In this view, the Kamrup Metro Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu has directed the Guwahati Police Commissioner to bar people from visiting the Nilachal hills.

He has also instructed the Guwahati Railway Station and Kamakhya Railway Station authorities to take initiatives so that devotees don't visit the State for Ambubachi Mela. He appealed to the authorities to ask the devotees to return to their homes in case they arrive at the station. He also urged the Kamakhya Temple Doloi to take initiatives so that no devotee visits the temple.
