No hike in HSLC 2024 exam fees: Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu

GUWAHATI: Various organizations and political parties protested and alleged that the examination fee for the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examinations in 2024 has increased. The Education Minister, Dr. Ranoj Pegu, clarified that there was no such hike in the fee structure. The education minister posted on X, formerly Twitter, that “there is no hike in the examination fee for the HSLC examination under SEBA. The fee structure is as it was last year. SEBA fee: Rs 700; centre fee: Rs 350; and practical exam fee: Rs 150; total: Rs 1200. All BPL students are exempted from paying this fee. The news circulated in a section of the media is false and baseless.”

Meanwhile, SEBA issued a notification regarding the date of the form fillups and fee structure on September 26. The online form-filling process will begin on October 9 and continue until October 31.
