GUWAHATI: Noted litterateur Hiren Gohain on Sunday released a novel authored by Juri Bora Borgohain and titled 'Camouflage' at Guwahati Press Club. The book delves into the history of terrorism and its impact on the people in Assam and the Northeast.

People in Assam and the Northeastern states is no stranger to the terrorism or the armed struggle, as the rebels prefer to call it, and a generation has seen or felt the outcome. It cannot be calculated how much the people in the region have suffered in general. Those living in the provinces have felt it more acutely and stories abound about different experiences, pain and suffering brought on by it. Such stories are contained in 'Camouflage,' it was stated in a press release.

Hiren Gohain spoke from his own experiences during his stay in different parts of Assam. He said that many important facts about the armed struggle remained unexpressed in the general narrative. The author outlined her own experiences while researching for the novel. She narrated how people in the affected areas would step forward to tell their own stories. She felt that most of the stories were sad and touching. It was an uncommon experience for author Juri Bora Borgohain in writing this novel, she stated.
