GUWAHATI: The Government of India has taken the initiative to celebrate the AKAM (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav) to commemorate the 75 years of progressive India and its glorious history, people, culture and achievements.

To mark this glorious journey, the NRL (Numaligarh Refinery Limited) is hosting the event 'Run for Unity, Run for Health' on December 19, 2021, to promote unity and spread awareness for a healthy lifestyle. The event aims to encourage and inspire everyone to nurture the philosophy of unity, harmony and fitness.

The run will commence at 5:30 am from Shraddhanjali Kanan, R.G. Baruah Road, Tarun Nagar, Guwahati. It will cover the route from Shraddhanjali Kanan via Zoo Tinali to Geetanagar Police Station to Geetanagar Field and back by the same route, stated a press release.

Chief Guest Pallav Gopal Jha, DC, Kamrup (Metro) is expected to be grace the event with young celebrities like Yasashree Bhuyan, Diganta Hazarika (actor) and noted sports personalities Tayabun Nisha and Elvis Ali Hazarika.

Prominent actor Udayan Duarah will host the event. Registrations are on for 500 participants on a first-come basis on the website www.runforhealth.in.
