NSUI stages hunger strike at Guwahati Rajiv Bhawan to oppose NEET-JEE exam

GUWAHATI: Members of the Assam State NSUI unit sat on a hunger strike at Guwahati Rajiv Bhawan on Friday to oppose the Centre's decision to conduct the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).

"Amidst the surge of COVID-19 cases in India, the Central Government is moving forward with the decision of conducting the JEE and NEET. This decision of the Government is inhuman and detrimental to the interest of Students' Community," said the students' union on Friday. The NSUI demanded the Central Government should reconsider the decision of holding any examination during pandemic and should postpone all examination keeping in view the safety of lives of the future generation of India. The hunger strike was organized by maintaining the COVID-19 protocols and directives under the leadership of State unit president Jyotibikash Changmai.
