 Literary pensioner, social worker and recipient of several state-level literary awards and a popular woman of the Suhagpur area, Rehabari in Guwahati, Lati Gogoi, wife of Professor Prabin Kumar Gogoi (Secretary of AHSEC), breathed her last in a city hospital on June 25, 2023. She was 80.

She leaves behind two sons, a daughter, two daughters-in-law, a son-in-law and 7 grandchildren. Several of her short stories have been translated into Hindi and English which were published in The Sentinel and other newspapers. Lati Gogoi was a regular contributor to Assamese literary magazines, including Goriyoxi, Amar Axom, Dainik Axom, Asomiya Pratidin, Asomiya Khobor, Agradut, Shreemoyee and Sadin, among others. Several of her short stories and other write-ups have been broadcast in the Aideour Buloni programme of Akashvani, Guwahati.

In 2006, she was selected for the literary pension of the Government of Assam. Among her published works are Mukto bihomgom (short story collection), Duranir Dexor sadhu (for children), Morisika (short story collection), Kiman je sadhu, kiman je ghotona, Meghaloyar Xubash, and Xamragye'.
