One arrested in Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana scam in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: On Friday, Guwahati Police was able to arrest the main culprit behind the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) Scam from the Hatigaon locality of Guwahati. The accused has been identified as Dilowar Hussain.

He was arrested for his alleged involvement in the PMFBY Scam involving crores of rupees, where money allotted for the beneficiaries of the scheme was fraudulently withdrawn by forging documents.

The Assam Police team was also able to seize 521 ATM cards, a fingerprint reader, and a swipe machine from his possession. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the IPC against the accused, and the investigation has been proceeded with to find everyone who was linked to this scam.
