GUWAHATI: Mehul Lakhani, a distinguished teacher hailing from Madhya Pradesh and a valued alumnus and former Acharya of Vidya Bharati, fondly known as ‘Mehul Bharat Yatri,’ is currently undertaking an extraordinary cycle tour across India with a noble mission to promote a cycling revolution (Cycle Kranti) in the country.
Since embarking on his journey on June 21, 2021, Lakhani has covered 42,000 kilometres, traversing 18 states, which include Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Daman and Diu, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, and Meghalaya. Currently, he is heading towards North India, leaving behind a trail of inspiration wherever he goes.
The primary objective of his expedition is to foster a healthier and stronger India by promoting cycling as an essential means of transportation. Throughout his travels, he has been disseminating invaluable knowledge about health, nature, culture, and the glorious history of our nation. Despite his temporary departure from the classroom, his passion for teaching and educating remains unwavering. He firmly believes in continuing to inspire and educate people throughout his life, which is evident as he seizes every opportunity to visit schools, colleges, and universities. His mission is to enlighten the young minds of India about the essence of our nation and the significance of health, nature, culture, and our rich heritage.
Mehul Lakhani, during his expedition, has interacted with over 1000 educational institutions, including schools, colleges, and universities, where he has shared his wisdom and experiences with the youth of our country. In addition to his educational endeavours, he has actively participated in social work and environmental initiatives, planting over 5,000 saplings at various locations in India. His dedication and efforts have earned him numerous awards and accolades, with recognition and encouragement from Chief Ministers, Central Ministers, Governors, and other dignitaries during his journey., stated a press release.
