Panbazar Police seized huge quantity of drugs; drug peddler arrested

GUWAHATI: Giving another blow to the menace of drugs in the city, the Panbazar Police arrested a drug peddler red-handed with drugs from Railway Gate No 2 at Lakhtokia on Monday.

Following interrogation, the accused - Osman Khan (28) led the police personnel to his rented house at Rahman Nagar, Hatigaon from where a huge quantity of drugs was recovered.

The police team seized 72 drug containers, 309 strips (7416 nos) of SEMPAX and 7 strips of NITRAVET-10 (210 nos) from his possession. In this connection, three other persons namely - Ibrahim Khan (22), Sukur Ali (19), and Nazrul Islam (32) were apprehended.

Khan is a native of Bogari village under Barpeta district and a case - 08/21 u/s 21(b)/ 22 (b) NDPF Act has been registered against them by the Panbazar PS.
