GUWAHATI: The state BJP on Wednesday tore into the Congress-led opposition parties' alliance INDIA, labeling them as power-hungry and with no commitment to people's welfare or development.

Such deficiencies will not enable them to win the faith or trust of the people in the Lok Sabha polls, the ruling party stated.

State BJP spokesperson Manoj Baruah said this while releasing a press statement here. He said the true nature of the opposition alliance in different parts of the country has become exposed before the people in the last few days, even before the upcoming polls.

He said the opposition parties, including the Congress question the democratic nature of the BJP but they have now exposed their own political convictions to be solely centered on grabbing power. He also said the leaders of different political parties allied in the INDIA of being devoid of conscience, something which is reflected in their statements made in the past few days, giving examples of Congress- Samajwadi Party alliance in Madhya Pradesh, the Congress-Left-Trinamool Congress in West Bengal, and the Congress- BRC in Telangana, where the parties are engaged in turf wars, raising questions on their commitment for the people's development.

In contrast, the Narendra Modi- led NDA has been working for the welfare of the people and the country's development at the domestic level and making the country strong on the international front, thus winning the faith and trust of the people, said the state BJP. In such a scenario, the opposition alliance will not be able to pose any kind of challenge to the BJP-led government, the state BJP stated.

In the case of Assam also, the Congress' comments on their anti-traditional stand for giving tickets to the upcoming Lok Sabha polls during the last few days will ensure that their efforts in securing an alliance will result in nothing, the state BJP believed.
