GUWAHATI: "It took Gujarati Mama five years to realize the issue of unemployment in Assam. On the other hand, more than one lakh youths have registered on our online job guarantee portal which reflects the gravity of the issue. We have pledged to provide five lakh government jobs in Assam," said AICC (All India Congress Committee) spokesperson Professor Gourav Vallabh while addressing a press conference at Rajiv Bhawan here on Wednesday.

Vallabh asserted that the Congress will win more than 101 seats in Assam in the forthcoming polls.

"The saffron party's words have no value. The Gujarati Mama has played with the people of Assam by trying to appease the industrialists in Mumbai. The BJP government has waived Rs 8 lakh crore corporate loans," said Vallabh.

Further, Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate stated, "In the first cabinet meeting we will approve Rs. 2,000 per month to homemakers, which is among the five promises we have made to the people of Assam." "While the BJP introduced the Ujjwala scheme, on the other hand it increased the prices of essential commodities," Shrinate pointed out.

She alleged that the decisions for nation building are being taken by the corporate houses in Mumbai not by the government who is in power at the Centre.

"This government only work during the time of election," Shrinate added.
