GUWAHATI: The Pollution Control Board, Assam (PCBA) has issued a directive to the deputy commissioners of the state to ensure that the firecracker shops do not sell crackers of 125 decibels. The PCBA also asked the district administrations to inspect in this regard and that the inspection teams should have magistrate-level officials.

It also asked the district administrations that nobody uses firecrackers after 10 pm.

The PCBA is monitoring the air ambient quality in various parts of Guwahati.
