Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) for Assam farmers during Kharif season

GUWAHATI: HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company has been authorized by the Government of Assam to implement the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) for loanee and non-loanee farmers in the districts of Tinsukia, Lakhimpur, Cachar, Baksa, Kamrup M, Udalguri, and Morigaon for Kharif 2020. Under the scheme the State Government of Assam will pay farmers' share of premium, up to 1 hectare, wherein only Rs 1 will be charged from the farmer for electronic tracking. To insure land beyond 1 hectare, farmer's share of premium (to be borne by the farmer) will be 2 per cent for Sali (winter) Paddy, 2 per cent for Blackgram (Matikalai) and 5 per cent for Jute.
