GUWAHATI: The preparations for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls are in full swing, and the state BJP organized two crucial organizational meetings at the party headquarters at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan on Friday.

At the start of the day, an office-bearer meeting was held, where the meeting discussed the upcoming programmes of the party and reviewed other organizational activities that will be carried out by the party.

Another meeting was conducted with the presidents in charge and co-in-charge of 39 organizational districts of the state BJP. This is the first meeting of the state BJP since the announcement of the list of newly appointed district in-charges. The meeting discussed the activities of the organizational strength of each district, the acceptability of booths and mandals, changes after constituency redetermination, etc.

The state BJP president, Bhabesh Kalita, said that "it will conduct a meeting with the alliance soon to strengthen the organizational strength of the state BJP and the alliance ahead of the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls."

The meeting also decided to redefine the structure of the booths, including booth presidents Palak and BLA-2, in order to strengthen the structure of the booths, which are the main driving forces of the party's organizational base. The meeting also decided to take joint initiatives with the coalition parties to complete preparations for the Lok Sabha elections at all levels. The meeting was attended by State BJP organizing general secretary Ravindra Raju, general secretaries Dipluranjan Sarma, Pallab Lochan Das, and Pulak Gohain.

Earlier, a joining programme was also organized in the presence of state BJP president Bhabesh Kalita. In the joining programme held in the BJP headquarter Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan, Chairman of Mariani Municipal Board, Biswaprabha Saikia, Vice Chairman Pradip Das, and other members of the board, Jorhat District President of Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha, Bilati Tati, General Secretary Nilesh Gaur, along with social workers, joined the BJP party.

The state BJP president welcomed all the newly joined party members and said, "The BJP has brought massive development and progress to society. Therefore, the public has always supported the BJP. This joining ceremony will have a positive impact among the tea community in the coming days." In the programme, state BJP organization general secretary Ravindra Raju, state BJP general secretary and MP Pallab Lochan Das, vice president and MP Tapan Gogoi, and Mariani MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi were present.
