President's Medals to 18 Assam Police Personnel

GUWAHATI: The Union Home Ministry has named 18 Assam Police personnel as recipients of the prestigious President's Police Medal for various categories on the occasion of 75th Independence Day to be celebrated on Sunday.

The President's Police Medal for Gallantry (PPMG) has been awarded to Lamho Doungel, Prakash Sonowal, Dipak Bora and late Bhaskar Kalita.

The President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service (PPMDS) has been awarded to Munna Prasad Gupta.

The Police Medal for Meritorious Services (PMMS) has been awarded to Birendra Medhi, Azaywran Basumatary, Jagdish Kumar Sinha, Ranjit Rajkhowa, Badrul Islam, Jogendra Barman, Dhrubajyoti Das, Balakrishna Thappa, Dilip Barua, Dipen Das, Nabin Borgohain, Sorabindu Deb Roy and Sharmila Sinha.

On the other hand, the Home Guards and Civil Defence Medal for meritorious services have been awarded to Mohini Mohan Sarma, Ganesh Deka, Horeshwar Borgohain and Ashim Kumar Kar.
