GUWAHATI: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Kamakhya Railway Station apprehended one mobile thief on Saturday.

According to sources, the victim reported about his missing handset, the OPPO A54, at Kamakhya Railway Station. After checking the CCTV footage, it was clear that the victim left his mobile set at the counter, and after some time, an unknown person came and took the mobile from the UTS counter.

After identifying the offender, the RPF conducted a raid to nab the offender. The officials found the offender loitering at Kamakhya Station on Platform 4. He was brought by the RPF and the mobile phone was recovered. The offender is identified as Pranab Brahma (57), from Kokrajhar.

The offender was handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP) for taking the necessary legal action per the law.
