Railways to run two special trains to clear extra rush of passengers

The trains will run between Okha & Guwahati; Dr Ambedkar Nagar & Kamakhya; and also between Jogbani and Anand Vihar (T)

GUWAHATI: To clear the extra rush of passengers, the Railways has decided to run two special trains between Okha –Guwahati and Dr. Ambedkar Nagar - Kamakhya for three trips each. It has been also decided to run a one-way special train between Jogbani and Anand Vihar (T) to clear the summer rushes. These trains will run with fully reserved accommodation for convenience of the passengers, stated a press release.

Among these special trains are the following: Train No. 09501 Okha-Guwahati Special will run for three trips leaving from Okha at 11:40 hours on Friday to reach Guwahati at 06:30 hours on Monday. The first trip of the train left on April 16; and, subsequently the second and third trips will be leaving Okha on April 23 and 30, 2021. In the return direction, Train No. 09502 Guwahati-Okha Special will run for three trips leaving from Guwahati at 20:40 hours on Monday to reach Okha at 14:00 hours on Thursday. The train will leave from Guwahati on April 19, 26 and May 3, 2021. The train will have sleeper class and general second-class accommodations for passengers.

Another special — Train No.09303 Dr. Ambedkar Nagar-Kamakhya Special will run for three trips leaving from Dr Ambedkar Nagar at 12:45 hours on Friday to reach Kamakhya at 10:00 hours on Sunday. The first trip of the train left on April 16; and, subsequently the second and third trips will be leaving Dr Ambedkar Nagar on April 23 and 30, 2021. In the return direction, Train No. 09304 Kamakhya-Dr Ambedkar Nagar Special will run for three trips leaving from Kamakhya at 05:35 hours on Monday to reach Dr Ambedkar Nagar at 02:00 hours on Wednesday. The train will leave from Kamakhya on April 19, 26 and May 3, 2021. The train will have AC-2 tier, sleeper class and general second-class accommodations for passengers.

On the other hand, Train No. 05789 Jogbani-Anand Vihar (T) — a one-way special — will run on April 18, 2021 leaving from Jogbani at 20:00 hours to reach Anand Vihar (T) at 21:00 hours on April 19, 2021. The train will have sleeper class and general second class accommodations for passengers.

The details of stoppages and timings of these trains are available in the Railway's website and are also being notified in various newspapers and social media platforms of N. F. Railway. The Railway is following COVID-related guidelines issued by respective State governments in various stations. Necessary help is being provided to the Health department of respective States for testing arrangement of train passengers. Passengers should travel with minimum luggage and wear face covers/masks at the stations and trains during travel. Passengers shall observe social distancing both at the station and on trains. All passengers are also advised to download and use the Aarogya Setu application before undertaking the journey.

Railway has also decided to impose fine on passenger if found violating any COVID-related safety guidelines.

On arrival at their destination, the passengers will have to adhere to prevailing health protocols of the destination State. All passengers are requested to co-operate with the railway and respective State government officials in this regards, added the release.
