GUWAHATI: The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Borjhar has predicted light rain and dense fog in Assam and its neighbouring States in the next 48 hours.

A RMC official said that light to moderate rain or snow on the higher reaches would occur at a few places over Arunachal Pradesh. He added that light rain would occur at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya. The weather is most likely to remain dry over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Shallow fog is very likely to occur at isolated pockets over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

The RMC has issued a warning that Assam and other NE States would witness dense fog during the night (December 17) and morning hours (December 18).

Guwahati will experience fog or mist in the morning and partly cloudy sky later on Friday. The maximum and minimum temperatures are most likely to be 26°C and 14°C respectively on Friday.
