Replace National Register of Citizens (NRC) With NPR: Siladitya Dev

GUWAHATI: Alleging that published the National Register of Citizens (NRC) is riddled with errors, Hojai MLA Siladitya Dev demanded that the National Register of Citizens be turned into a National Population Register (NPR) instead. Addressing the press at his residence on Saturday, Dev said, “The published NRC is riddled with errors, as such, it should be turned into NPR instead, after which, NRC on the national level should be based on NPR. In India, the NPR procedures will start from August to September, 2020.” Dev further demanded that after the declaration of National Register of Citizens as NPR, cut-off date for National Register of Citizens should be 1951, the same as the rest of India for in our democracy, one country, one constitution is practiced.
