Revolutionary step by APSC, transgender now an option in Gender Category for APSC exams

Guwahati, October 29: In another major boost for the transgender community of Assam, the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has taken a revolutionary and progressive step by deciding to introduce the 'Transgender' option in the gender category of the civil service examination forms. Assam has become the first state to introduce this remarkable step.

As many as 42 civil service aspirants of the transgender community of Assam applied and filled the form after the step. They have applied for the ACS junior grade posts and other allied services posts.
