GUWAHATI: The State's capital city has experienced sudden rise in both day and night temperatures. Till the first week of February the maximum temperature in the city was fluctuating in between 22 degree Celsius and 24 degree Celsius. The temperature suddenly shot up and causing the atmosphere warmer. On Sunday the city recorded maximum temperature of 29 degree Celsius and minimum of 14.8 degree Celsius.

"The cold wind is missing now. The sky is clear with strong sunshine. The weather has also become hotter due to long dry spell," an official at the Regional Meteorological Centre at Borjhar said. "Light rain/thundershowers is very likely to occur at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh and weather is most likely to be remain dry over, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura. Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at isolated pockets over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura," he said.
