In the budget speeches of the last three years, the State Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has been assuring to introduce a free health scheme for the State employees. The sixth and seventh pay commission also recommended for the implementation of such a scheme for the employees," stated a statement issued by SAKP secretary general Mrinal Das. In this regard, a representative meeting of the SAKP will be held here on October 9.

Further, Das stressed that members of the SAKP also visited Telangana to study a scheme which their government has implemented. Following the visit, the members submitted a report to the health department of the Assam government. However, due to the delay of the Health Department the scheme was never created, he stressed.
