Sadou Asom Karmachari Parishad seeks vaccination drives for all government employees

GUWAHATI: The SAKP (Sadou Asom Karmachari Parishad) has urged the State government to arrange immediate vaccination drives for all government employees. Talking to The Sentinel, SAKP president, Pradeep Dutta said, "The government employees are also frontline workers. Hence, it is imperative that the authorities concerned should arrange vaccination drives for them at the earliest.

"Of the more than 5 lakh government employees in Assam, 60% are in the age group of 45 years and above. While a few among them might have gone for vaccination all by themselves in either government or private hospitals, the majority of the employees are yet to be vaccinated.

"On the other hand, vaccination drives have not commenced for the remaining 40% of government employees who are in the below 45-year age group. However, all are performing their duties."

The SAKP president welcomed the latest SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for government employees.
