Save us from landlords' harassment: Law students tell State government

GUWAHATI: The All Assam Law Students' Association (AALSA) has claimed that many of the students of the State are being threatened and harassed by their landlords as they are unable to pay the full amount of their hostel fee and rent. The AALSA appealed the Assam government to take strict action regarding the matter, as earlier the State government had appealed the landlords for relaxation of fee and rent from the students. AALSA president Kishore Kalita said, "Though a few landlords have given relaxation of fees and rents for the students as per the appeal made by the State government, but a few other sections have refused to do so and are mentally harassing the students."
