 GUWAHATI: The State Bank of India (SBI) organized a corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme on the campus of the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Guwahati. As part of this initiative, the bank donated an ambulance to NIPER, Guwahati.

The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India, Guwahati, is the first institute of national importance in the pharmaceutical domain in the Northeast, imparting education and spearheading research in the pharmaceutical sector. It was established by the Government of India with the aim of nurturing and promoting quality and excellence in pharmaceutical education and research in the country. It acts as the nucleus for interaction between academics and industry by undertaking sponsored and funded research as well as consultancy projects. NIPER, Guwahati, was established to fulfil these aims in the northeastern part of India.

Addressing the attendees, Vincent M. D., Chief General Manager of SBI, Guwahati Circle, emphasized the bank’s enduring dedication to its CSR endeavors. On this occasion, Dr U.S.N. Murty, director and dean of the institute, thanked the SBI for its vital support in the promotion of pharmaceutical education and research in the region and wished to strengthen their relationship with the SBI in the near future. The occasion was attended by other higher officials of the bank, including Subhakanta Kanungo, DGM (B&O), SBI, Guwahati Module, Sarvesh Kumar, Regional Manager, SBI, Guwahati Rural, and other officials of NIPER, stated a press release.
