GUWAHATI: The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) has directed all schools affiliated to it to conduct a special half-yearly examination for class-X students within the ongoing month.

According to a Notification issued by the SEBA, this decision has been taken because some class-X students could not appear in the regular half-yearly examination, which was conducted in October last, "due to late admission or other reasons".

The schools have been further directed to enter the marks obtained by the students concerned in the special examination in the Marks Entry Portal (MEP) of the SEBA.

It may be mentioned that the SEBA made it mandatory for students aspiring to appear in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination 2023 to appear in the class-X half-yearly examinations of their respective schools and ensure that their marks are entered in the MEP.
