PALASBARI: Receiving prompt and effective treatment at a time when you need it the most is a priceless feeling! That is precisely why Guwahati's Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBI) and its vigilant staff strive 24x7 to ensure that passengers are always in a safe and secure environment. The most recent instance was when a passenger was feeling unwell prior to his departure. When Ripunjoy Goswami, officer of terminal operation, was informed of the situation he immediately took the passenger directly to the Medical Inspection (MI) room. Dr Imdadul Hassan, the resident doctor, immediately attended to the passenger. Further an ambulance was called and the passenger was taken to hospital. The same way, a lady passenger, travelling with her husband to Chennai, suddenly felt dizziness and missed a step near the SHA checking area. When Bhagyashree Thakuria Das, Customer Service Associate, came to know about it she called the airlines personnel to taking her to the MI room. On another day, a medical case occurred in the airport where a child was suffering from high fever. When the customer executive came to know about it the child along with their parents were taken immediately to the MI room. The patient recovered within an hour and the child and her parents boarded the flight safely.

On yet another occasion, a passenger lost his wallet. However, with the sincere efforts of the CISF personnel the passenger got his wallet back. When AK Nath found the purse, he directly went to the flight to deliver it to the passenger directly. The aircraft was about to stop boarding, but he insisted that the flights attendants should deliver the wallet to the passenger. Again, information was received by the Intelligence wing that a lady passenger informed to CISF that she couldn't find her trolley bag at the arrival area and exited from terminal building. As per information received, a CISF team searched the arrival area through CCTV and noticed an unattended trolley bag left near the belt area beside washroom. Immediately the lady was informed by CISF and she returned to the airport to collect her trolley bag. After confirming her boarding pass she was allowed till belt area to identify the same. After proper verification the trolley bag was handed over to the passenger. She was happy to receive her bag and gave special thanks to CISF team for finding her trolley bag which contained new clothes. The passenger later informed about the incident by e-mail and expressed her appreciation of the services of Customer service executive, security staff, CISF staff and medical team at Guwahati's LGBI Airport. The incident encapsulates the endeavour of LGBI airport to grow with goodness.
