GUWAHATI: Acting on a tip-off, a special operation by Guwahati police apprehended seven suspected drug peddlers from three different locations simultaneously on Friday evening.
The Guwahati police arrested seven individuals and seized 10,000 Yaba tablets. The seven have been identified as Hamidullah (60) of Thoubal district, Manipur; Nazer Hussain (30) of Thoubal district, Manipur; Abdul Haque (35) of Rajabali, Meghalaya; Motibur Bhuyan (35) of Hatisingimari, Assam; Ebad Hussain, Abdul Adut, and Mistan Hoque, all three from South Salmara.
The police recovered Rs 38020, six mobile phones, one SIM card, one Hyundai Venue Car (ML-05-Z-1470), and one empty vial from the seven people. In another investigation, the WGPD (West Guwahati Police District) and Fatasil Ambari police station arrested four drug peddlers on Saturday. They have been identified as Himango Borah from Rupnagar, Saidul Haque of Machkhowa, Arjun Mallick of Rupnagar, and Adam Ali of Latasil. They were caught with 25 vials containing 2.5 grammes of heroin at AK Azad Road, two mobile phones, and one vehicle.
