GUWAHATI: The North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), under the Union Ministry of Culture, is going to hold Shilpgram Mahotsav from 13th to 15th March, 2020 on the Shilpgram premises at Panjabari, Guwahati on the 14th Foundation Day of the cultural complex – Silpgram that was set up in 2006.

Every year the Mahotsav has cultural programmes, exhibition-cum-sales of crafts and traditional cuisine marking its foundation day.

The festival is set to show case a choreographic presentation by Dr. Prashanna Gogoi entitled “Ek Bharat Shretha Bharat” of folk and tribal dance performance from the north-eastern States and representations from all zonal cultural centres, including that of Jharkhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Gujrat, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra on March 15. It will be followed by rock musical performance by SUMMER SALT. An Odissi dance performance by Vani Madhav, five folk dances by different communities from India, fusion & contemporary musical performance by TETSEO SISTERS and SOFIYUM are slated for 14th March.

A Borgeet performance by Pranami Kalita, folk dances of the Northeast – performances by various artistes from the region and Chiya Geet performance by Shankardeva Shisu Vidya Niketan, Beltola & Luit Konwar Rudra Barua State College of Music, Guwahati, and six dance performances from various states of India followed by musical performance presentation by popular singer Krishnamoni Chutia on 13th March, 2020 etc. During the occasion, Young Talent Artiste Award for 2018 -2019 will be given of on 15th March, 2020.

The Governor of Nagaland and NEZCC Chairman R.N. Ravi consented to grace the occasion as the chief guest in the closing ceremony on March 15.
