GUWAHATI: Ohta Hisatoshi from Japan, President, Houyuu Co. Ltd., met SITA Vice Chairman Ramen Deka at his official chamber at Janata Bhawan, Dispur, on Tuesday. In the meeting, Ohta Hisatoshi gave a PowerPoint presentation on behalf of his organization. The presentation shows the various activities taken up by the organization in the fields of innovation and sustainable development. Ramen Deka has shown interest in working with the Japanese company, and he asked the officials to look into the proposal for any avenues for skilled labourers' employability and to prepare a concept paper to guide collaboration if it starts.

The main objective of the Assam-Japan Gateway is cultural exchange between Assam and Japan for socio-economic bonding and to explore mutual development opportunities in the economic and technical spheres. It is hoped that it will generate educational and employability opportunities. The meeting was attended by Co-Vice Chairman Dhruba Prasad Baishya, SEED Principal Secretary B. Kalyan Chakravarthy, IAS, Director, MIRAI Hemanta Kr. Mazumdar, Professor, ADTU Dr. Rakesh Afre, KOTOBA CEO Rajesh Das, and other officials of SITA.

In another meeting, Ramen Deka held a discussion with the officials of USAID, which is working with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change on an initiative to plant trees outside the forest in India. Ramen Deka is of the view that if the project is taken up, follow-up maintenance needs to be prepared for its proper growth, which can benefit our livelihood and the ecosystem, stated a press release.
