Sonowal's Cabinet is inexperienced, corrupt and workshy: Congress

GUWAHATI: The Congress party has alleged that Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal-led Cabinet is the most inexperienced, workshy and corrupt in the country.

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee media cell chairman Dr Bhagirath Karan alleged that the till date the Sonowal's Cabinet is not a full-fledged one.

"Barring a few Ministers in the Cabinet, all are slackers. A reshuffle in the Cabinet is needed for the benefit of the State. However, it has been ignored," Dr Karan said.

Further, he questioned the investigation of the SI (Sub Inspector) recruitment scam.

"The big fishes like Ministers and MLAs highlighted in the SI scam were not grilled. The APSC (Assam Public Service Commission) has failed to conduct recruitment examinations successfully in the year 2018, 2019, and 2020.

He alleged that candidates were appointed through middlemen in various departments of the State. He questioned whether the government ordered investigation in appointments for 1,004 posts in the P&RD department, 80 posts in the Information and Public Relations department, 1000 posts in Assam Police, and 50 posts in the Fishery department, among others.
