GUWAHATI: Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra has been closed since the first lockdown is set to reopen on Monday when it is going to celebrate its 23rd anniversary.
Addressing a press meet here on Saturday, Sirmanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra Somaj's vice president MLA Angoorlata Deka said, "The government has taken a decision to set up five mini kalakshetras, one each at Dibrugarh, Diphu, Kokrajhar, Silchar and Delhi. We're also contemplating on preserving the contributions of folk singer Pratima Pandey Baruah. On November 9 a website of the Kalakshetra will be launched by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. The website will let people know about the Kalakshetra."
