GUWAHATI: The State BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) has extended its greetings to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for successfully completing one month in the office.
Addressing the media, State BJP chief spokesperson Rupam Goswami said, "Under the leadership of CM Sarma and his Council of Ministers, the State has witnessed a change in — administration, health, economy, law and order, etc. The State is rapidly moving towards development. The State BJP's governance is an indication that Assam will witness rapid development in every sector in the next five years."
Goswami asserted that despite being formed amid the COVID situation; the new government is successfully tackling the challenge by moving forward in the path of development.
"In the last one month, the police have taken stringent measures to tackle the drug menace by cracking down on drug peddlers. Meanwhile, cow smugglers and coal syndicates are also being brought to justice. On the other hand, a peaceful atmosphere has prevailed between the ULFA (United Liberation Front of Asom) and the government," said Goswami.
Further, the State BJP chief spokesperson underlined that the government has made changes in various schemes due to which the beneficiaries can easily avail them.
"Within one month of government formation, two reserve forests have been declared as national parks. Moreover, the construction of ICU-equipped hospitals has been increased and initiatives have been taken to manufacture oxygen plants in the State. These are some laudable steps taken by the government," Goswami added.
