GUWAHATI: The Patgaon-based National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) on Saturday evacuated eight passengers after a government-operated ferry travelling to North Guwahati from Sukleswar Ghat got stuck in the river Brahmaputra due to low water level, according to a press release.
The passengers and eyewitnesses appreciated the prompt response of the rescuers.
The NDRF tackles natural disasters and other emergency situations in the four Northeastern States of Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura.
