Sub Inspector Nipu Kalita dismissed from service for misconduct

The concerned Sub Inspector (SI), Nipu Kalita, has been dismissed from his position for serious misconduct. As per sources, he was allegedly found receiving bribes while posted in Cachar.

GUWAHATI: The concerned Sub Inspector (SI), Nipu Kalita, has been dismissed from his position for serious misconduct. As per sources, he was allegedly found receiving bribes while posted in Cachar. In this regard, the DGP GP Singh shared through his tweet, "SI (UB) Nipu Kalita is dismissed from service w.e.f. 27.06.2023 in connection with DP No. 07/2021 for his serious misconduct, including receiving bribes while posted in Cachar def. vide rule 7 of the Assam Services (discipline and appeal rule, 1964), rule 66 of Assam Police Manual Part-III read with Section 65 of the Assam Police Act, 2007 and article 311 of the Constitution of India." It may be mentioned that SI Nipu Kalita, while serving in Dispur Police Station, was arrested by the Dispur Police in 2019 in connection with stolen gold biscuits.
