Supply fodder & medicines in flood-hit areas: Minister Atul Bora

GUWAHATI: Agriculture, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Minister Atul Bora asked all Veterinary officials to supply an adequate quantity of fodder, medicines for livestock etc., in the flood-affected areas of the state.

The Minister reviewed the situation of livestock in the state with top-level officers of the Veterinary and Animal Husbandry departments. He also asked the officials to collect information regarding the loss of livestock in the current wave of floods in the state.

He also directed the officers to send experts to the districts to ascertain the reported outbreak of African Swine flu, besides carrying out a drive for awareness of animal health.

The department constituted an observation team to ascertain the outbreak of African Swine flu in the state. The department stressed the increased production of dairy products, eggs, goats, pigs, etc. The meeting also focused on the mobile treatment of animals for better livestock in the state.
