GUWAHATI: Work under the 'Svamitva' scheme launched by the Central Government to map the villages and measure the lands of the people in Assam has started on Friday in the Chandrapur Revenue Circle.

Photos are collected by drones in two villages of the revenue cycle to determine the limits. The drone photographing work of Chandrapur and Chandrapur villages no. 2 was completed in the presence of Chandrapur Revenue Circle officer along with the officials of the central government survey department.

According to Chandrapur Revenue Circle officer Jintu Bara, all the activities of the revenue cycle under 'Soumitta' scheme can be completed by next January.

It may be mentioned that through the scheme, property will be earmarked for each person in the village, the boundaries of the villages will be demarcated and prepared for each village. In addition to the property of the individual in rural areas, all surveys like village panchayats and public property like roads, ponds, schools, anganbadi centres, health sub-centres etc. will be provided through this scheme.
