Tanker driver detained over oil theft in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: A joint team of the Government Railway Police (GRP) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Monday detained the driver of an oil tanker (AS01HC 9897), one Dimbeswar Deka, for suspected pilferage of diesel meant for the Northeast Frontier (NF) Railway. Sources said that Deka is believed to have sold the diesel which the tanker was carrying from the IOC terminal at Betkuchi to the Guwahati Railway Station.
