GUWAHATI: Multiple leaders and members of the tea communities officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during an event organised on Thursday. The event was organized in the state head office of the party in the presence of BJP state president Bhabesh Kalita, MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, Rabindra Raju, MP Pallab Lochan Das, Sanjoy Kishan, Bimal Bora, Rupesh Goala, and several other leaders and members of the BJP.

Welcoming the new members to the party, MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa said that the country has developed a lot during the ruling of the BJP, and the public has seen the development. Addressing the gathering, Bhabesh Kalita said that their government has brought development to the grassroots of the tea communities. He also spoke about the development of the amenities in the tea garden areas and the recent increase in the wages of the workers employed in the gardens, as well as the 3% reservation for the community in the OBC quota.
