Thieves held, stolen car recovered in Guwahati city

GUWAHATI: An East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) team from Basistha police station cracked a case of theft which was reported at Saurav Nagar in Beltola on Oct 26. The police team arrested two thieves, Ajijur Haque of Dalgaon and Jabbar Ali of Howly, in connection with the crime. One stolen car with license plates reading AS-01-AE-5555 was recovered from their possession, along with an iron rod believed to have been used during the theft.

The duo was produced in court and was sent to police remand. The police are conducting further probe in the case.
