GUWAHATI: Three students went to their watery graves in the Brahmaputra near Pandu Port in Guwahati on Sunday. One student went missing.

According to police sources, four Class-X students went near Pandu Ghat on Sunday noon while returning from tuition at American Colony. The four made a video picture on the river bank while dancing. They then kept their dresses, bags, shoes on the river bank and stepped into the river to bathe. They kept a mobile handset on to take their video picture. And all of them went missing.

People raised a cry after finding their dresses, bags and shoes on the river bank. They informed the police. The police called SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) and NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) personnel.

SDRF and NDRF rescuers fished out the bodies of Jeet Das (15) hailing from Ananda Nagar at Kamakhya, Abhinash Das (15) hailing from Kamakhya Colony and Dayal Sheikh (14) hailing from Kamakhya Colony. Deep Sarkar (14), also hailing from Kamakhya Colony, remains traceless.

The rescue operation will resume on Monday morning.
