GUWAHATI: In the fast-changing business scenario and the convergence of technology, profit-earning has become the sole motto of business entities. The regulations are in place but those, on many occasions, not followed in letter and spirit. The various unfortunate incidents of corporate malpractices and the resultant erosion of faith in the business system have necessitated the need for incorporating in the way of doing business, the age-old ethos of values and ethics. This was the voice of the seminar on the theme ‘Values and Ethics in Business’ organized in Guwahati recently.
In association with NERIM Group of Institutions UCO Bank, Zonal Office, Guwahati, organized a seminar under the auspices of Town Official Language Implementation Committee (Banks) Guwahati. Welcoming the faculty, dignitaries and students, Director, NERIM, Prof. Sangita Tripathi said that the curriculum dealing with this subject was not enough till people practice them in day-to-day life.
The seminar was inaugurated by Sudhir Kumar Sharma, Chairman TOLIC (Banks) & GM, SBI. Prof. Pradip Kumar Jain Head, Department of Business Administration and SS Saha, Chief General Manager, NABARD were the resource persons. A K Machary, Zonal Manager, UCO Bank presided over the session, a press release said.
