Trafficker arrested; two girls rescued from Azara

GUWAHATI: The CID ( Criminal Investigation Department) sleuths have arrested a trafficker and rescued two girls from the Azara area here on Monday.

According to a CID source, the trafficker has been identified as Azaidul Islam of Balipuri in Barpeta district. He was taking the girl to Delhi through the air.

The source added that the rescued girls are from Lakhimpur and Boko.

The victims were working in Guwahati for many years as domestic help and the trafficker took the advantage of their poor economic background and lured them. Meanwhile, the victims are under the aegis of an NGO namely the Global Organization for Life Development.
