Two arrested by BIEO for forgery in Guwahati city

GUWAHATI: The Bureau of Investigation for Economic Offences (BIEO) has arrested two individuals on charge of forgery in a deal regarding the sale of a plot of land at Jalukbari, Guwahati.

Sharif Uddin and three others had lodged an FIR on August 3 2022 regarding the sale of a plot in Pachim Jalukbari revenue village of Kamrup district in Assam. Case number 15/2022 was registered with sections 120B, 420,406, 468 and 471 based on the complaint.

With the actual owner of the plot being one Rajen Thakuria, Sahil Hussain had taken Rs 27,40,000 in the presence of Mainul Hoque Ansary by producing a fake power of Attorney regarding the plot.

Following the investigation, Sahil Hussain (29 years), son of Makbul Hussain and Enamul Hussain (35 years), son of Jamir Hussain, both from Garigaon under Jalukbari police station were arrested by the department and forwarded to judicial custody.
