Two arrested with fake currency in Dergaon

GUWAHATI: Acting on a tip-off, the Special Task Force (STF) has recovered fake currency to the tune of Rs 18 lakh and has arrested two persons in this connection. The operation was conducted in Dergaon on Monday. The accused have been identified as Md. Dheeraj Ahmed (33) from Golaghat district and Jayanta Saikia (37) from Majuli. In this regard, the STF Police Station has registered a case — 01/2021 u/s 120(b)/489(B)/489(C) IPC.
